Mayra & Jose’s wedding at Tronco Beach Restaurant
His story. …
When we met it was all business, months later it was still all business-that is, until the night I kissed her. I totally “got her” over a game of pool, but she still made me wait 2 whole weeks before I could take her out to dinner. We decided we would do “this” for as long as we were happy. Years later, still happy, we were lucky enough to have created a baby. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared, but I was more excited about the possibilities of our new bundle of joy. She was so gorgeous pregnant- that maybe I’ll do it again. I never believed I’d get married but … I proposed to her because I love her, because I am head over heels in love with her, and because I cant think of anyone else I would rather spend my life with.
Her story. …
Once upon a time… six and a half years ago my fairytale began. I met a man, an extraordinary man, who loved me for everything that I was and more importantly for everything I wasn’t. We never included a formal “title” in the “words” that were to ultimately tell our story. But the running tagline had always been that he would ask me out on a post-it… with the tried and true “Yes” or “No” boxes. This chapter never happened- it was the blip between the lines that in fact had never needed to be spoken. What may have been minutia over drinks (the convo about the ring pop) was the most romantic proposal I could have expected from this oh so not romantic guy i.e. he thinks changing my oil or filling my tank equates to romance-lol. Marriage, our final chapter, MUST have included a pink RING POP, yup, a 5Ë & dime ring pop. Three boxes later came the ring pop and after another 5 boxes came the actual ring, rose gold with little chocolate diamonds, unassuming but sincere, much like our relationship had been. Words tell our story… but I also hope they capture our love.
Their wedding at Tronco Beach Restaurant was amazing. “Being an event planner, here in Chicago, I was determined to plan every moment, even so much as bringing my own décor (which I did-lol)” says Mayra. Ignacio, the owner of the venue, was an ease to work with, even dealing with all of her OCD moments.
Reliving that day still makes her all teary-eyed because it truly was what her heart had wanted. The ceremony in a word, a fairytale. On-site at Tronco was better than the beach because the only thing they missed was eating their hair as the strong beach breeze whipped through us- not! The cocktail hour, the food, the ambiance, the décor, the dancing and the space, honestly could not be beat! It was utterly amazing!!!
The ceremony was officiated by their dear friend Jeremy and they celebrated with their daughter and her Main lady Bianca, bride’s sister Ana and Godmother Marta, and their closest and dearest friends, Awi, Mari, Jessie, Jeremy, Sophia, Layla and Ileana. “We would travel the world and share all of our moments with these amazing people! <3 u!!” confesses Mayra and we believe her.
About GGG Staff: “Knowing I had one shot at catching my hubby in his most romantic moment was my other saving grace that I found in GGG Photography. They went above and beyond the moment to catch EVERY instance. Our love story didn’t require words because they captured it in our pictures! We loved them so much that we invited them to eat and celebrate with us, but they graciously chose to continue to work and capture the times when I thought no one was looking. This is but a snippet of our day… to say that GGG Photography was amazing would be an understatement!- Mayra & Jose
