Ashley & Michael

Beach Gazebo Wedding in Royalton Bavaro – Ashley & Michael.

Nobody can say that 2020 was an easy year, specially for those who have planned their destination wedding in Punta Cana. They were uncertain times and we completely understood when Ashley and Michael felt uneasy to continue with their wedding plans.

But, after emails and messages back and forth, they told us they decided to continue and their new wedding date was scheduled in our 2021 calendar.

They chose Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa as their wedding venue. We can confidently say that this all inclusive resort was built for travelers of any age offering two areas: family section (with a lot of activities for the whole family) and the Diamond Club with a superior level of service. So, for the wedding guests, it was the perfect place!

We started our coverage with the getting ready pictures, three hours earlier than the ceremony. Ashley hired an external make up and hairstyle professional for her and her girls, so Krystie Ann, one of the most recognized artist in Punta Cana, did her magic, so all the girls looked stunning. We were able to capture very funny moments, specially with the champagne bottle pop-up, so make sure to get a bottle of champagne and a lot of bridal details for memorable shoots!

Ashley & Mike, instead of having a first look, had a “first touch”. Great idea! They didn’t saw each other, but they were able to touch their hands, saying romantic things to each other making it a special moment to photograph.

Their ceremony was at the beach gazebo and  the place has some pros and cons that we would like to share with you:

The gazebo is located on the left / western side (facing the ocean) of the property, right next to the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana, it would be great if the shore wasn’t too small and full of chairlongs. Also, there is a massage cabin in front of the gazebo, so we believe that for a big wedding -as this one- it looked a little bit crowded.

The good things are that the place is a breezy spot if you are having your wedding during spring or summer season. At least, the couple and the bridal party will be in the shade and they will not suffer the brutal heat. Also, if you are thinking of wearing heals, the gazebo has a wooden walkway. Finally, if you are investing in your wedding decoration, we think it would look awesome with flowers, some drapery or greenery stuff.

Right after the ceremony and the group pictures, we had the romantic newlywed photo session. It was a windy day so the beach wasn’t the best spot for the portraits but we were able to capture some of them and then we continued to other spots, gazebo included. As photographers, we always look for different places for pictures, not only beach.

The reception location had a last minute change, but it didn’t affect the mood of the wedding celebration. It was supposed to be outside but, finally the Oceanside Restaurant was the assigned place. All the wedding decoration -an excellent work of the onsite wedding planner- looked gorgeous.

Ashley and Mike decided to have extra fun for their reception and hired an entertainment company and a photo booth to get fun instant pictures. So, we had a lot of moments to capture, some really emotive and some really fun! Congrats guys! You had a memorable destination wedding in Punta Cana.
