Same Sex Wedding at Hard Rock Punta Cana / Lindsey & Sara

Lindsey & Sara’s union was another destination wedding planned during the “Covid era” but fortunately, for them, the wedding planning itself seemed pretty smooth. Working with their travel agent and their on-site wedding coordinator Kamila, they made it so easy for them.

Anyway, the biggest issue or concern was during the pandemic, waiting to see what all the covid restrictions were going to be for flights and the resort. Happily, after all the planning, their wedding celebration turned out great!

This is their love story…

Lindsey & Sara had met about 4.5 years ago while they were both working in Athletics at Purdue University. About 2 years ago, Sara had a secret she was hiding from Lindsey. Lindsey wanted couples pictures for her birthday (which is in June), but for the photos, she wanted them done in the fall. So, Sara thought it was a great idea to plan a surprise proposal during the photo session. They began their pictures at a brewery, changed outfits and headed to the apple orchard where Sara then proposed. They were also able to knock out an engagement session the same day which was awesome! That wasn’t the only surprise Sara had that night. Because Sara had just got engaged Lindsey wanted to go have a steak dinner and Sara had “agreed” to it. Little did Lindsey know that they had friends and family from Michigan, Illinois and Indiana all at the house to surprise her for an engagement party. And the rest is history!

Now, let’s talk about their wedding celebration…

How was the weather during your stay considering it was almost summer here in the Caribbean?

“I would say that the weather itself was perfect the whole time we were there. Before leaving, rain was in the forecast every day, with our wedding day having the highest chance. We saw rain one morning a few days later while eating breakfast, but then it was sunny and we hit up the pools” says Sara.

How was your experience at HRPC, would you recommend this place for a destination wedding?

“Well, the service of the staff on-site was INCREDIBLE. We felt like we were literally royalty.
The wedding coordinator on site -Kamila- really knows what they’re doing and we put all our trust in them. On our Wedding day everything seemed it was just like a dream. The venues, the views, the decorations, all of it was fantastic. The DJ and MC from JSAV were outstanding! Couldn’t of asked for a better pair. The food we had for the welcome party and reception was phenomenal. Everyone loved it. I heard so many positives about our wedding food even days after!“ says Lindsey.

As part of their celebration at HRPC, they had a welcome party…

“We had our welcome party the night before our wedding at the Sax pool and the food we had selected was the BBQ Buffet. We had hired a cigar roller for our guests as a surprise, and we are so glad we did. Everyone had loved how informational it was. We did not know in the beginning that he went into how cigars are made and how to smoke them so it was really cool to learn” says Lindsey.

“For our wedding day, we had our ceremony on Isla beach and the cocktail hour and reception were on Element terrace, the food we had chosen was the American Buffet. Again, the views of these locations were amazing… having the ocean in the background for all of our ceremony photos, to all the palm trees, ocean and blue sky right behind us at the reception. I would do it all again. Our wedding ceremony had started at 4pm, cocktail hour 6-7pm and reception 7-10pm. I loved having our day planned like this as it was cooler as the night went on but we wish the receptions go past 10pm as we and our guests were having the time of our lives” says Sara.

How was your experience with GGG staff?

Our experience with GGG PHOTO was AMAZING!!!!!!!! We are so happy we chose them to capture our wedding day. We are looking forward to hopefully taking family photos one day back in Punta Cana with GGG Photo as our photographers. All their staff were top notch!! It was really awesome that Georges drove to our hotel to meet with us to discuss in person, everything that was to happen on our wedding day. They took our list of wants and made it become a reality.
