We are excited to share some highlights from Jasmine & Darrell’s destination wedding, which marked our latest celebration in October.
From our initial interaction with the couple, it was evident that their wedding would be a spectacular event, and we were thrilled to be chosen as their photo and video team.
The decision to host their celebration in the Dominican Republic, after considering other destinations like Mexico and Jamaica, reflected their desire for something unique. According to the bride, “It honestly came down to us choosing the DR because we both have never been, so it would be a new experience for us together.”
Opting for Excellence El Carmen without a prior visit, the couple shared, “From what we could see online, Excellence El Carmen just stood out as a 5-star beautiful oasis. For wedding ceremonies, the resort provides two picturesque spots: the beach gazebo and the stone gazebo nestled in the lush gardens. As photographers, we highly recommend the stone gazebo for its privacy and inherent elegance, eliminating the need for excessive decorations.
When it comes to the wedding reception, options abound, ranging from beach settings to ballrooms, terraces, or the plaza. For summer weddings, considering a venue with air conditioning is a thoughtful touch that will undoubtedly be appreciated by your guests.
Excellence El Carmen offers high-end wedding packages starting at USD 850 for up to 10 people (including the bride and groom), increasing up to $2,400 for up to 20 guests. While the packages include essentials, customization options are available for additional wedding services.
Jasmine & Darrell, our featured couple, selected our best-selling photo and video collection, providing approximately 8 hours of coverage. We had the privilege of capturing the bride’s preparations in her suite, witnessing the joy shared among her and her bridesmaids throughout the day.
GGG: What was the theme of your wedding? We’re curious about the unique touches that made your day extra special.
Jasmine: “To be honest we didn’t have a theme. We just wanted to have fun, spend time with family, & celebrate the gift God gave us, which was finding each other and sharing our amazing love with everyone. We added touches to remember those that had passed and couldn’t be there with us to celebrate on our big day”
Jasmine & Darrell’s love story
Long story short, Darrell slid in her DMs on IG and they got together a few months later. They had a long distance relationship for a few years until Jasmine moved to Huntsville AL a few months before the wedding.
