Dreams Onyx in Punta Cana is a popular choice for destination weddings, offering a stunning beachfront setting and all-inclusive luxury. The white sand beach and turquoise waters create the perfect backdrop for a romantic ceremony and breathtaking wedding photos—just like Heather & Anthony had last November.

One of the highlights of this resort is the variety of wedding locations: beachfront ceremonies, garden settings, elegant ballrooms, a stunning fountain with a gazebo in the middle of the property (a private and elegant option we highly recommend!)

Heather & Anthony didn’t have children on their guest list, but Dreams Onyx is family-friendly, making it a great choice for couples with kids in attendance. Plus, guests can also access Breathless Punta Cana, the adults-only resort next door—offering flexibility for different preferences.

Things to Keep in Mind

The resort’s wedding department is experienced, but due to the high number of events—especially in peak seasons—communication can sometimes be slow. Patience is key! We recommend staying organized and keeping track of all the information they provide for a smoother planning process.

Since Dreams Onyx is a popular resort, beach ceremonies may have tourists in the background. For a more private and elegant setting, we always recommend the fountain gazebo—not only for its gorgeous view but also for its exclusivity.

Punta Cana has tropical weather, with higher humidity and occasional rain showers from May to November. If you’re looking for the best conditions, consider a January or February wedding! The gazebo is a great alternative for shade and comfort.

If you use the resort’s preferred vendors for photography, makeup, and décor, you can avoid external vendor fees. However, this may limit your ability to add a personal touch to your celebration.

If you want to bring your own photographer, videographer, or hairstylist, the resort charges additional fees—unless they stay on the property for a minimum number of nights. Unfortunately, this policy does not apply to local vendors (which can be frustrating!).

While Dreams Onyx offers convenient wedding packages, they can be restrictive if you want a highly personalized wedding beyond their standard décor and options.

While the all-inclusive experience is fantastic, the cost of travel and accommodations might be high for some guests, potentially affecting attendance. Also, keep in mind that reception parties may have time restrictions, and late-night celebrations might need to be moved indoors.

But for Heather & Anthony, this wasn’t an issue—they wrapped up their night by jumping into the pool with their guests! Now that’s an epic wedding finale!
