Gazebo Wedding at Royalton Punta Cana / Chandi & Joel
Chandi and Joel had been to two weddings in Mexico and had a blast! They wanted to do something different than Mexico, and the Dominican Republic was one of the few Caribbean destinations that they could fly to directly from Calgary, Canada.
But, why did you choose Royalton Punta Cana as your venue for your destination wedding in the Dominican Republic?
Chandi: “We worked with our wedding planner to narrow down the different resorts and ultimately decided on the Royalton Punta Cana because of the amenities, beach access, and affordability”.
Royalton Punta Cana is only 25 minutes away from the Punta Cana International Airport, this all inclusive resort has 317 spacious rooms and suites, some of them with breathless views. Also, their Kids Club, Teen Lounge and babysitting services, make it perfect for a family trip.
Regarding wedding celebrations, the resort offers wedding packages from USD999 (for very small wedding ceremonies) but also, you can hire a basic package and then you do some upgrades to it.
Chandi & Joel decided to get married at the beach gazebo, with capacity for 100 guests. They opted for a very simple decoration with drapings. The natural scenery in the background is everything you want so, no need to invest a special budget for decor.
Since the couple got married in December and the light is out around 6.00pm, we recommended they have a first look to do some pics of their couple photo session before their ceremony. It was a good choice because after the wedding ceremony and after their group pictures with their guests, we were able to capture them during the golden hour. We’ve got very romantic images.
Their reception at Infinity pool terrace was not affected by the rain that night. Actually, there was a very cool breeze.
“Even though we didn’t actually have a theme to the wedding, just “destination wedding”, we tried to keep it as simple as possible and everything turned out great!“ says Chandi with a big smile.
