How Planning Your Destination Wedding During The Pandemic
Wedding photography – Dreams Dominicus – Amanda & Ian
Planning a destination wedding is actually a big endeavor, so now we can only imagine how hard it could be during this pandemic craziness. A lot of things have changed and definitely, more changes could happen until your big day arrives. The tension may be high but it’s important to remember that your wedding will happen!
The Punta Cana International Airport is reopening on July 1st, and there will be several new mandates to follow. So, we suggest you to check the website regularly and share all this information with your guests. Also, you can create a group on Facebook to share links, videos, pictures and invite all your guests to join it.
The majority of the hotels are reopening during July and also they are updating their policies not only for weddings and events so, remember that your guests will have a little vacation here and it’s very important to keep them informed about the protocols and restrictions of the resort to anticipate their needs and make sure that they feel valued and special.
Constantly, we receive messages through our Facebook page, Instagram and Punta Cana weddings facebook group, asking how the things are going here. So, it’s a good idea to have someone local, maybe your wedding planner, venue manager or some vendor (maybe us ;), that can give you a more familiar opinion and latest news. If you need any help planning your destination wedding during a pandemic, feel free to contact us!
We really don’t want to influence on your decision but a small and intimate wedding will be easier to handle than a big event. You will notice more sensitivity to guests traveling, so you might just see a lower response rate than you would have. Don’t stress, be understanding. Considering your budget, maybe you can plan a local wedding reception back at home for those who couldn’t make it. Double celebration!
Stay positive! We’re going to come out of this, and it’s going to be so great. We bet you!
