Tropical modern destination wedding at Secrets Royal Beach / Josh & Breanne

Josh and Breanne met playing softball in a local town league. Josh waited after the game one night to give Breanne his number, they had our first date a couple days later and the rest is history. They still play softball together on the same team in the same league to this day!

Tell us about your wedding planning journey. How did you decide on tying the knot, especially here? Why did you choose Secrets Royal for your celebration?

A few years ago Breanne went to a destination wedding as a plus one with her cousin. Even though she didn’t know many people, she had such a blast hanging out with everyone. It was a constant party! So when they started talking about marriage, a destination wedding was at the top of the list. They talked with all of their close friends and family and everyone seemed to be game, so the destination became reality. Instead of just one day of spending time with their friends and family they had multiple!!

When choosing a destination, cost of resort, amenities, and proximity to the airport were all considered. At the end of the day, with the help of their travel agent, they decided on Secrets Royal Beach.

This all inclusive was reasonably priced, had beautiful amenities and was a close ride from the airport. The Karaoke/sports bar was the icing on top as they had many guests who love to sing karaoke.

Let’s talk about your wedding theme…

The theme of the wedding was tropical modern. They leaned into the use of tropical greenery, natural browns and a muted orange to achieve this. With only bringing a few decorations from home, they wanted something simple and that would enhance the existing beauty of Punta Cana. 

We’re curious about the unique touches that made your day extra special.

When trying to decide on their seating chart Breanne and Josh really wanted to find a way to utilize fresh coconuts! Breanne had the idea to place a label on the coconuts, with that, she hand wrote every seating chart label and affixed them on a straw with some ribbon. It was definitely a lovely detail.

We had an incredible time capturing their special day as their wedding photographers. From the very first email, they made everything seamless for us.
