An unique destination wedding in The Palms / Amanda & JJ

Punta Cana is one of the best places in the world to plan a destination wedding. The weather, the magical scenery, the local food, and mainly because you will have a lot of fun here. It sounds like an ideal plan to have a wedding and also a great vacation at the same time.

Amanda & JJ were looking for a place where they can celebrate their wedding but also have a vacation time with their friends and family, so as soon as they found The Palms, they fell in love with the place and they decided to put hands down on it.

This wasn’t our first time shooting at this location. We know it very well because we have had several weddings and events there.

The villa is about 45 minutes away from Punta Cana International Airport and it is located in Uvero Alto. It has 14 rooms / suites fully equipped and also a 150’ long swimming pool with a beautiful garden (perfect for the wedding set ups)

We must say that all the staff are pretty friendly, they -for sure- will always give you the extra attention. We can not complain about the food and the beverages at all, they always have delicious dishes and cocktails. They really do an excellent job.

But let’s talk about the wedding celebration.

Amanda & JJ are one of our most relaxed couples that we ever had. They really wanted to have a great time here and, believe us, they had it! It was their first time here in the Dominican Republic so they wanted to enjoy every single minute of their stay on the island. They told us that they had planned a wedding reception at home so basically, they wanted to have a pretty simple wedding ceremony and then an intimate dinner after that.

A friend of theirs was the officiant, a pretty good idea by the way, because as friend they know the couple and can spice things up by saying unique words. And he said a lot of beautiful words about them. So, the ceremony was short and sweet. After that, the newlyweds had a cool idea, popping up two bottles of champagne.

We cannot say enough things about their group pictures, Ione funnier than the other, their bridal party was awesome, pretty fun, so we were able to capture great moments of them (especially when they decided to jump into the pool!!!)

Definitely, it was a pretty original wedding celebration in Punta Cana, we are used to seeing more formal and traditional celebrations at the resorts, but with The Palms, everything is unique so, we believe that it would be a good option in case you are looking for something more original and true to your personality.
